Summorum Pontificum Pilgrims Barred From Using Vatican Bathrooms

VATICAN CITY—Attendees of the Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage in Rome were shocked this weekend when the Vatican police denied them entrance to the bathrooms located in the Vatican museum.

“I reeaaaallly have to go….” said one pilgrim to The Roman Caller before bolting to the closest trattoria.

The Roman Caller reached out to the Vatican for a comment. In an anonymous email reply, the Vatican told The Roman Caller that “the pilgrimage group did not reach out in a sufficient amount of time to use these bathrooms.” They explained, “The group attempted to set these things in stone around August, but most of the requests we get are submitted eight months out. We expect most groups to know their own bathroom habits and plan accordingly.”

“Aaaaah! Why are the Vatican guards blocking the door,” cried one pilgrim.

At press time, many pilgrims were making their way to the relatively empty and unguarded Paul VI modern art display.
